Following the events taking place during the Final Days, the people of Etheirys are laboring to return to some semblance of peace. Much has changed since the last Calamity itself in all nations, and the aversion of not only one, but two massive catastrophes in a relatively short time, with the Telophoroi and the apocalypse looming in the past has prompted them to work together as one to protect and rebuild their homes.The Warrior of Light, the beacon of hope chosen by Hydaelyn herself, is now free to roam the land, chasing after new adventures. A traveler at heart, they won the right to, after weighing the destiny of all worlds in their shoulders.With the Scions of the Seventh Dawn’s disbandment, the investigation of strange phenomena falls under the Students of Baldesion once more. Once a decimated group by the machinations of the Ascians, the group is quickly rebuilding, and accepting new and interesting cases.One case is such that it’s quickly gaining the attention of mandates, scholars, and commoners alike.Multiple locations in Etheirys are said to have received unusual aetherial readings. Far from showing that the land is being dried out of it, like the last phenomenon, this time there seems to be an overabundance of it.To make things more interesting, readings from the Aporia are showing a clear instability through the Altiascope. These suggest that, in the absence of the Mothercrystal and both Zodiark and Hydaelyn gone, the Aetherial Sea is suffering from a lack of stasis that is permeating through the surface of the land, making the barrier between them thin enough for bursts of aether to pass though.Several cases of people appearing from locations that are nowhere in Etheirys are piling up, and not even the most brilliant minds in the Convergence can explain the behavior displayed in these particular manifestations. These people are offered shelter in the big cities until their situation is cleared up.That being said, it fails to explain that this overabundance of aether is manifesting in the return of beings who died at some point. It is either that the aether runs rampart, or, as something more calculated, the cycle of death and rebirth is being compromised.With the investigation on Dynamis being mostly preliminary, and only holding tangible results through tests that many would not be willing to replicate, still it is held as a possible candidate for this particular issue.Not all dead return from the Aetherial Sea, and the ones who do seem to be holding a particular emotion that drives them through, and proves strong enough for them to come back to their form prior to their demise. Dynamis is emotion made tangible phenomena, and while opposite to aether, it may shape aether up. It may disrupt its normal course.With old friends and foes returning from the grave, and the Scions of The Seventh Dawn in their retirement, the question as to how to deal with this dilemma remains.
Our Rules
1. Disagreements
This is a group role play setting where many members may have diverse opinions. It is natural that disagreements come about in places like this, but we ask that you do not use this server as a platform to argue. Disagreements that remain respectful and calm are perfectly allowed, but if things start to get heated, admins reserve the right to either shut the conversation down or move it to a private channel.We also ask that you do not partake in excessive talk of sensitive topics such as politics, religion, etc. Please look at the blacklist for a more in-depth list of topics that shouldn't be discussed.2. IC/OOC
What a character does within the confines of role play is not necessarily representative of how the person writing them would feel. Do not confound a character’s actions with a writer’s feelings, and please be respectful when discussing these matters. Most arguments in a group role play setting come from a misunderstanding of character motivation, and it is not ideal for anyone involved. Stated most simply, do not turn in character disagreements into out of character arguments.3. FREE TRIAL REQUIREMENT
Times are tough and we know that not everyone can pay for their subscription or all the expansions. This server is post Dawntrail so you will be spoiled. You may leave the server if you don't want to take that risk.We will allow Free Trial players and those who haven't finished MSQ (Up to the patch quests of Stormblood) in the server and they can apply for OCs ONLY. This is because you will be missing three expansions worth of content and outside sources for information may not be enough to fully understand the character. If you are currently a free trial player then we suggest checking out the wiki and watching lore videos on youtube to get a general idea of the story.4. NSFW
We are an 18+ server. NSFW material is to stay within the channels marked as NSFW. Not everyone is comfortable interacting with NSFW material, and it is your duty as a member of this server to be respectful of that. Admins take this very seriously. If you are unsure if something is NSFW or not, if what you are saying could not be said in a PG-13 movie, it is probably best to put it in NSFW. Vague and nonexplicit mentions of sex may come up in non-nsfw in character channels, but it must be moved if it becomes explicit.

Due to the nature of the game, FFXIV MSQ and patch quests are ongoing and we have to be flexible with our plot with the new information. Patch quests can be vital to a character and you are free to use the content within them with respect to those trying to avoid spoilers.This server is up-to-date with Dawntrail and will be with any upcoming patches.
There is a TWO WEEK spoiler ban when new content is dropped. Discussion of new content can be done within #spoilers.-Any new characters will also be under the same three week spoiler ban. We will not accept characters from new content till the ban is up. We will keep you updated on when the ban will be over and after that you may send in your application. This may be inconvenient but we want everyone to experience new content if they wish.~6. GENERAL RP ETIQUETTE
Please be respectful while role playing within this server. General RP etiquette such as no god-moding or meta knowledge (using things you know OOC but your character would not know) apply here. In situations where one character overpowers another, the outcome should be agreed upon by both parties. If you feel this rule is being violated, reach out to an admin.7. CHARACTER LIMITATIONS
All members of the server are allowed to write a maximum of four canon characters in the server. There is currently NO LIMIT on OCs. Even with the no oc limit, you must still apply to ensure your oc is not lore/plot breaking.If you would like to take on another character, we ask for you to redo the apping process but you don't have to redo your writing sample. We would just like to see your plans on adding the character into the server and things like that.You may not apply for characters that interact consistently with each other. For example, you could not have both Urianger and Thancred because they closely interact. This is to hinder people from apping for groups of characters. If you have any questions on which would be allowed, feel free to ask!8. APPLICATION PROCESS
When you send off an application, the moderation team will look over it as a whole and make a decision. As such, it may take some time if the team is busy. We do our best to prioritize applications and push them through as quickly as possible. If a member of the moderation team reaches out to you and asks questions about your application, do not panic. We are just making sure your character will fit within the canon we have established. If your first application is denied, you are more than welcome to ask why and revise your application and reapply.We do offer the ability to claim characters while you work on your application.
Contact a mod or request it in #admin-suggestions. A character may be claimed for three days and are on first come first serve basis. If an application hasn't been received within three days, the claim will be removed and you'd have to claim again.9. ACTIVITY CHECKS
All server members are subject to biweekly activity checks, done on the 1st and 15th of every month. Comm channels and literary threads both count towards activity checks, but be advised that if you are only sending one message in the comms channels every two weeks, the mod team reserves the right to speak with you about this. Failing two activity checks in a row is grounds for character loss.10. HIATUS
Things come up in everyone’s lives. We understand this. As long as you communicate, we will flexible. Head over to #hiatus-request to request the hiatus role. While you have the hiatus role, you will not be subject to activity checks. Please specify how long you would like to be on hiatus when you request hiatus so we know when to check in on you.11. THE STRIKE SYSTEM
Talking about punishments is never fun but they are something that must be done. We have a fairly simple strike system. You are allowed three strikes before getting kicked from the server. The third strike will be the one that gets you kicked. Each strike lasts thirty days. Meaning, if you get a strike and it's been thirty days, that strike will be removed.For now, we are unsure if people kicked will have a chance for redemption. That is why it's currently a kick but if you immediately rejoin after being kicked, you WILL be banned.Receiving strikes will not be easy. For minor offenses we usually just try to talk to you and explain why it's bad behavior.
Free Company
We do have a Free Company those within the server may join!The requirements to join the Free Company are...
Must be a member of the server WITH an approved character.
Spectators must be in the server for a week before being allowed access. The fastest way to get in is to apply with a character!
Must roleplay within the Discord server ONLY. Private roleplays between members is fine, just not in FC chat. We will also allow roleplaying at events.
The draw of our server is the fact you don't have to be in a Free Company to experience roleplay. We use discord because we can't be on the game frequently but would love to be in the same space.Interested in joining? Join the server here!
